Fans of Miranda Cosgrove remember her as a teenager starring with Josh Peck on the very popular sitcom iCarly but she’s making new headlines. It seems that Cosgrove is coming clean about one part of her life. When she chatted it up this month with Peck and Ben Stoffer on their Good Guys podcast, Cosgrove opened herself up to one of Peck’s questions.
He asked Cosgrove, “Have you ever done anything bad? Like, do you drink? Do you do any of that?” Peck, 37, offers Cosgrove, 30, a chance to answer.
She said, “I’ve never been drunk in my entire life. Crazy.” Yet Cosgrove admits that she’s “open to it.” Peck responds by saying, “Someone get this girl s–t-housed, would ya? I mean, this poor girl has never experienced being drunk.”
Why has she missed this kind of rite of passage in life? Cosgrove said that she “truly” doesn’t “have a good reason.”

“I’ve never even been buzzed,” Cosgrove said. “I’ve sipped things before, but, like, two sips.”
Man, it seems like Cosgrove is missing out on a lot of life. Yet Peck, being pretty wise here, asked Cosgrove if she had a “limiting part” to her. One that “doesn’t allow herself” to drink. Cosgrove admitted that it might be a possibility “on some level.”
She expands upon that answer, US Magazine reports. Cosgrove said, “I think it started off because I was always the designated driver when I went out with my friends, and I sort of liked taking on that role and got used to it and just kind of stuck with it forever.
“But yeah, no, I’m open to drinking,” Cosgrove said. “I’m still planning on it at some point … even though I’m 30. I should’ve done it on my birthday, my 30th.”
Now that we know about her drinking, what about smoking? Has she had a cigarette? A cigar? Maybe taken a hit off of a blunt? “I’ve never smoked anything,” Cosgrove said. “I had an edible, like an edible brownie, and I fell asleep for, like, 17 hours. I woke up super rested.”
Actress Does Admit To Cussing ‘A Little’
It appears that the iCarly star is too pure to be true. But hold on there, she’s not totally clean. Cosgrove talked about it when stopping by Whitney Cummings’ podcast Good for You in 2022. She said, “I actually do cuss a little.” Cummings asked her what is her favorite cuss word. Cosgrove? “Probably f–k.”
Cosgrove played Carly Shay on iCarly between September 2007 to November 2012.
The actress also has spoken up regarding “the pressure” that Cosgrove went through as a young child. “Even when you’re not on TV or acting or anything, just growing up, there’s a lot of pressure to try to figure so many things out,” Cosgrove said on the Reign With Josh Smith podcast in September 2022. She also has been a person who went through some teenage experiences a bit later in life due to her acting schedule.
“When I was really young, I would go in to write songs and the different people I was cowriting with would be like, ‘What’s the craziest thing that happened with a guy you were dating recently?’” Cosgrove said. “And I’d be thinking, ‘I don’t know,’ I didn’t really have any crazy stories because I wasn’t really having a real high school or middle school experience.”
