Laura Misiaszek Obituary, Death – Ms. Laura A. Misiaszek, a beloved member of the New Hartford community, passed away on October 25, 2023, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. Born on October 30, 1956, Laura was the daughter of Keith and Joyce Payne. She graduated from New Hartford High School and attended MVCC before founding the Olde Wicker Mill in New Hartford, which she managed with unparalleled dedication.

Laura’s resilience in the face of adversity was a testament to her strength of character. Her life was enriched by simple pleasures such as her sons’ sporting events, leisurely drives, and the beauty of sunflowers. Known for her selflessness and generosity, Laura always prioritized the needs of others above her own. Family held the most significant place in her heart, especially her cherished grandchildren, Addison and Jacob, as well as the grandchildren of her companion, Richard Rintrona, whom she embraced as her own.

Her devotion to her family and friends extended to her half-sister, Meghan and Thomas Guca, and her close-knit circle from the Olde Wicker Mill. Laura’s unwavering love and care endeared her to all who knew her. Predeceased by her parents, Keith and Joyce, Laura is survived by her two sons, David and Brandon, her companion Richard, her beloved half-sister Meghan, and her cherished grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers Gary, James, Keith, and David, along with Richard’s children and grandchildren, who were an integral part of her life. A visitation for friends and family was held on November 2, 2023, at the Heintz Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass on November 3, 2023, at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish.

Laura’s final resting place is in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to a domestic violence organization or a charity of choice in Laura’s memory. Laura’s legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
