In the book, his clothes were brightly colored and tasteless, very nouveau riche. On the TV show, he's put in grey sober things, the medieval fantasy-genre equivalent of a modern business suit.
As for the man himself, the only reason I gave him a number higher than 1 is that Aiden Gillen is a moderately attractive man. Littlefinger himself is creepy, repellent, everything I avoid in a man! He's a sociopath who is incapable of normal human feelings, who is out to use and destroy everyone and everything, and who seems to be borderline asexual as well as loveless. He has no idea what love is, his only feelings are a desire for power and possessions, he is Donald Trump with brains instead of a sex drive. Yuck.

I loved the sexy Aiden Gillen in "The Wire" and found him hawt then, and he's still got it. With GoT, Gillen has now starred in two of television's most epic series.

I did find him extremely sexy, especially during the earlier seasons when the actor playing him tended to make more understated acting choices. Once he started twirling his moustache and speaking out of the side of his mouth, the lust began to subside.
