Alexander 23 is a pop singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from LA who just released a lyric video for his newest track, “Sad.”

“The song is about the challenges of someone you love battling mental health issues. The line between helping and hurting can become so thin,” says Alexander 23.

With lyrics like, “Don’t know if I’m hurting or helping / It’s just so damn hard to tell when you’re just too good at being sad,” and “All I wanna do is take the sad from me you,” Alexander 23 perfectly tells the story of a person trying to help someone dealing with mental health issues.

Mental health is starting to be talked about more, but the person on the other side is never discussed as much.

It’s important to know that every little thing you try to do to help someone is important. The most crucial thing is the fact that you’re there with an open heart and ear. Sometimes all someone needs is for someone to listen.

“Sad” is Alexander 23’s fourth single that was released. His first three were “When I Die,” “Mars, and “Dirty AF1s.” “Dirty AF1s” was premiered as Apple Music’s “Bop of The Week” and was also included on Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist. The song even got over four million streams across all platforms!

Not only is Alexander 23 hitting getting noticed online, he also hit the stage with 5 Seconds of Summer and finished a sold-out North American tour opening for Alec Benjamin.
